In this program I learned how to develop and carry out lesson plans in language classrooms, how to present grammar to language learners, and how to do research on language teaching and learning. I took this certificate program in addition to my PhD program because I believe that knowing one\u2019s academic discipline well does not guarantee that one will be a good teacher.
